U.S. Invasion Pt. 1

Travel knocks you out. Fried chicken can do just the same thing. 14 hours later we are in Kansas City and eating at Stroud’s . Here pan-fried chicken rules over the more generally available deep fried variety. With your order of chicken your server will run you through a list of options that can be a true test to your concentration skills; salad or soup, what style potatoes, type of salad dressing? This is the land where options are a given, and where your salad might contain a whole shred load of cheddar. Where when we sit down for a family meal everybody at the table has a potato dressed down in a different form.

If dredged chicken, fried until the crust takes on the muskiness of pork scratchings, crunches heavy and almost shatters, then this is your deal, your fried chicken delight. Although this armoured chicken had too much defense for me to enjoy it fully, it was still moist within. The house made cinnamon buns that were served with the meal took your chicken to the sweet n’ savoury pleasure garden. The sides of porky green beans and mashed potatoes, were standard homey table fair.

Next up in this fast and furious, spattering of food nuggets: Oklahoma Joe’s , presented in .:MEAT VISION:.
