Pork Belly Meat Treat


You know when the smell of roasting meat fills the house that you’re home. What whim or sentiment is it connected to? Well, I don’t have time to sit on the psych’s couch and figure it out because I have guests coming over. This leads me to another simple pleasure; that of good company.  Cooking for friends and sitting down for a meal is a fine thing. A conclusion that I sometimes forget to remember.  I’m being basic here, as basic as this dish looks. Let me break it down for you: sweet potato biscuit with brined, braised and deep fried pork belly, a coriander aioli and sweet red pickled jalapeños – served with an old bay seasoned cut of corn. So like I said simple. But you know what is? Inviting your friends over for a meal, maybe a game of cards and a chat.

Enjoy a slice of the good life – “G.N.”
